Whoops. Totally forgot.
I forgot about this thing. Honestly. Guess this speaks to how much I’ve disconnected from non-personal communication, incoming and outgoing. I’ve also super-connected to personal communication. All this and more when you email me, call me, stop me in person, or at the least gchat me.

The axis of the earth has moved by about 8cm (presumably at sea level at the poles). The day, correspondingly, is 1.26 microseconds shorter. All this because of a devastating earthquake!
[on the closing ceremony] If the opening ceremony was any guide, we’ll likely see plenty of maple leafs, fake snow and surprise Canadians (hey, is that Donald Sutherland?) tonight.

This is precisely what makes MIT pretty great. It is what makes it a pity that UChicago is so impractical — it blocks out hysterical things like this. That said, we did create a student-made breeder reactor in a shed for a scavenger hunt. Which is pretty good.
